May 20th Virtual Workshop: The 420 on Cannabis Legalization in New York

New York’s Governor signed the Marijuana Regulation and Taxation Act of 2021 (MRTA) on March 31 2021 allowing adults 21 and older to use cannabis recreationally.

Social justice issues like racial inequality have shaken workforce laws across the country. The governor’s office projects MRTA revenues of up to $350 million annually and creation of 30-60,000 jobs statewide. However, many sections of the MRTA, including employment related sections of the law, are effective immediately.
